BLOG 5: PERSONAL OPINIOS

Hello classmates, in this blog I will talk to you about violence on television.

Within this medium, which is one of the main means of communication, we find the "information" programs such as news and it is within these that I see more violence. Although these programs "show" the daily reality or those problems that appear in the daily life, I believe that the manipulation of this information is dangerous and violent, because all the time violence is being shown. I recognize that the current context is quite violent but I believe that it is exploited to control masses through fear. Fear of going out because there is a "violent" manifestation, fear of going out because people are violent, fear of going out because there is a deadly virus, fear, fear and more fear. 

On the other hand, there are the recorded programs that are broadcast that are explicitly and implicitly violent, for example, "morandé con compañía". A program with a very high level of gender violence, where the acts or the "humor" of this program were not questioned because it was totally normalized, being that it directly attempted against the integrity of women, dissidents or people with different bodies and/or capacities. 

I believe that much of the information that is delivered through television is true, however, the way in which it is shown, harms people who sit in front of it day by day in order to know what is going on in the world. The manipulation that takes place through their programs seems to me to be totally violent and that is why I think it should be eradicated.
